"Vera" harness
Ultra-light harness weighing 400-450 grams depending on size and handle length.
This harness is a development based on suggestions from the working group for guide dog owners of the German Association of the Blind.
The "Vera" harness is made entirely of synthetic material (neoprene, nylon, imitation leather) and can therefore be washed by hand or in the machine at 30°C.
The harness has been designed with ergonomics in mind to reduce load and pressure points
on the dog to avoid or minimize.
Handle made of powder-coated aluminium, handle area with extra plastic cover, also available with leather or neoprene cover on request.
Plastic connector for detaching the handle when traveling by car or train for freedom of movement for the dog. Rotating and tilting function on the plug connections to avoid impact and pressure loads on the dog
Handlebars available in straight or ergonomic shape.
The straight handle is suitable for experienced guide dog teams or even beginners.
The ergonomic handle is used when the guide dog team "tilts" the guide harness to the right or to avoid tension in the arm/shoulder area of the guide dog holder.
Size 1: Chest circumference 60-75 cm for King Poodles, German Shepherds, Labradors, Golden Retrievers up to approx. 25-28 kilos
Size 2: Chest circumference 70-85cm for German Shepherd Labrador Golden Retriever about 28-35kg
Size 3: Chest circumference 80-95cm for German Shepherd Labrador Golden Retriever over 35kg
